What information can you find in your paystub?

  • Employee details: Name, SSN, Address

  • Employer details: Name, Address

  • Federal filing status

  • Pay period dates

  • Pay day 

  • Gross earnings: Income before deductions like taxes and contributions.

  • Withheld taxes: Federal income tax, and if applicable, state or local taxes, along with employee’s FICA share (including Medicare and Social Security taxes).

  • Employee contributions: Payments towards retirement plans or pensions. 

  • Deductions: Amounts deducted for items like health insurance or life insurance.

  • Net pay: The final amount the employee receives in their paycheck after subtracting taxes, contributions, and deductions from gross earnings.
